| Toronto Neighbourhoods

Are you house hunting for the best of what Toronto has to offer? If you dream of long winding streets, pristine parks, and some of the most architecturally delectable homes in the city, look no further than luxury neighbourhoods in Toronto. Here are five of my favourites.

 Rosedale

Rosedale is steeped in history and the neighbourhood flaunts that historic charm at every corner. As one of the first neighbourhoods in the city of Toronto you will find tree-lined streets, three peaceful and scenic ravines, as well as homes in a variety of styles such as Edwardian, Tudor, Victorian, and Georgian.

 Forest Hill

The story goes that the better the school, the more sought-after the neighbourhood. Upper Canada College has produced ten Olympic medallists, four premiers, seven chief justices, four Mayors of Toronto and countless other famous Canadians. Some of Bishop Strachan School’s alumni include the first female computer scientist in Canada as well as the British Empire’s first female judge! With reputations such as these, it is natural that people flocked to Forest Hill, making it one of the top luxury neighbourhoods in Toronto.

 Yorkville

It is hard to imagine that in the 60s Yorkville was known as the bohemian epicentre of Canada. Some of Canada’s greatest artists established themselves in Yorkville: Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot and Margaret Atwood – just to name a few. Today, Yorkville is the epitome of haute couture, housing the Mink Mile – the most expensive retail space in Canada, and the third most pricey in North America. If you crave the best that fashion has to offer this is the neighbourhood for you.

 Lawrence Park

The opulence of Lawrence Park stretches back as far as the early 1900s, when the Dovercourt Land Building and Saving Company advertised the neighbourhood as an “aristocratic neighbourhood”. With an exclusive atmosphere, Lawrence Park has created a safe haven for famous Torontonians who are seeking a private life around some of the most happening parts of Toronto. Our current Mayor John Tory, and former Blue Jays president Paul Beeston have called Lawrence Park home for quite some time and it is probably because Lawrence Park has some of Canada’s most visually stunning mansions.

 The Bridle Path

The crème de la crème! The best for last! The Bridle Path, also known as “Millionaire’s Row” is arguably the richest and most luxurious neighbourhood in all Toronto. If sophistication and culture is what you seek, look no further than the community living in The Bridle Path whose citizens frequently travel for business and pleasure. When they are home, they love to frequent galleries and ballets. One property on Park Lane Circle was even modelled after the Palace of Versailles! If you seek the best of life, and the best of what Canada has to offer, The Bridle Path is the only luxury neighbourhood in Toronto you ought to consider.
